We’re a husband-and-wife team creating jewellery in the UK. We believe fine jewellery should be timeless, yet full of character. Our pieces are classic with a playful spirit, often finished with unexpected details that make a piece uniquely yours.

James: Founder, Designer, Maker

I’m James, and my passion for jewellery began in childhood, silversmithing with my grandfather. I went on to study Jewellery Design at Loughborough University and began creating my own animal-inspired jewellery while designing for high-end retailers.

The spark for Veale Fine Jewellery came when close friends repeatedly asked me to make their engagement rings. My love for bespoke diamond jewellery flourished.

During this time, I was mentored by Graff Diamonds’ former head designer and refined my skills in computer-aided design (CAD). This also connected me with exceptional Bond Street craftsmen — makers I’m proud to have work on my jewellery today.

My signature style blends a traditional aesthetic with a contemporary edge, creating jewellery that is timeless yet personal. I’m drawn to subtle design twists – little touches that make each piece uniquely special.

I am a qualified Gem-A diamond grader (and natural conversationalist), and love guiding clients through choosing their perfect diamond. I’m also trained in identifying laboratory-grown diamonds.

With an expert eye, years of experience, and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing my love of jewellery, I ensure every piece I create is thoughtfully designed, beautifully crafted, and made to be treasured for life.

Rosie: Communicator and Curator

I’m Rosie, and my background is in psychology. I hold a Masters in Occupational Psychology and began my career in management consulting. My focus was always on people: what motivates us and how meaningful experiences are created and shape how we feel. This insight and interest continues to guide me.

After welcoming our first daughter in 2019, I formally joined James’ jewellery business, shaping it into the family venture it is today. I am very fortunate to work alongside my husband on a passion we both share – jewellery! I’m endlessly inspired by the emotional power of jewellery: how a piece can capture a feeling, a relationship, or a moment in time. As I have experienced through my own jewels, I love seeing clients fall in love with their new treasured pieces.

On a day-to-day basis I bring a calm, considered and thorough approach to both client and internal projects, making our service seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. I also offer a valued female perspective in the design, ensuring every piece is not only beautiful but effortlessly wearable.

Above all, it brings me real joy to know that every client we work with experiences the very best of James’ design and craftsmanship — resulting in jewellery that’s meaningful today, cherished for a lifetime, and destined to be passed on to someone special.

Responsible luxury

We only use responsibly sourced materials to make our jewellery.

We work with with long‑standing, trusted suppliers for sourcing all our gemstones. Our diamonds comply with the Kimberley Process and our coloured gemstones are fully traceable and appropriately certified. Over 90% of the precious metals we use are from recycled sources and we never use metal of Russian origin.

All our jewellery is made in the UK — either in our studio or by a select group of trusted craftsmen. We never use overseas mass‑production warehouses.

Each year we donate a portion of our profits to the Philip Veale Children’s Centre in Malawi — an orphanage founded in memory of James’s father. Additionally we regularly support charity auctions.

As creators of bespoke jewellery in the UK, we’re proud to uphold practices that respect both people and planet.
