Our Bespoke Process

Bespoke jewellery begins and ends with you – your ideas, your style, your milestones and your memories. We listen to you and guide you until your design is unmistakably yours. Then we bring it to life, creating jewellery that is as meaningful as it is beautiful.

01 – Discuss & Design

Start with a conversation…

Meet James in Hertfordshire or London, talk by phone or video call, or discuss your initial thoughts over email. It doesn’t matter if you know exactly what you want, or if you only have a few guidelines. James will explore your ideas, lifestyle, budget and any inspiration you have, and offer his guidance.

Once James has a broad initial specification, he’ll share with you photo-realistic CAD design of your piece so you can to visualise what your jewellery could look like in real life. Your design can then be refined until you’re completely happy.

Alongside this he’ll carefully select diamond or gemstone options. He’ll talk you through the differences in quality, beauty and value. Where required, James can show you a 3D wax prototype of your jewellery alongside your shortlisted stones. This is no doubt one of the most exciting parts of the design stage!

02 – Confirm & Create

Your design is brought to life…

Once you’ve chosen your stones and finalised the design, a 50% payment secures your stones and begins the creation process.

James will craft your piece in-house, as well personally take it to and from highly skilled Bonds Street craftsmen for specialist elements such as stone setting. The final part of the process is hallmarking your jewellery at the London Assay Office.

Our bespoke jewellery typically takes 6 –8 weeks to create, depending on the piece. Complimentary engraving available for all our rings. We will keep you updated throughout the process and are happy to share photos of the creation stage for your keepsake.

03 – Collect & Enjoy

The finished piece is yours…

Once your jewellery is ready, we’ll arrange collection from Hertfordshire or London, or arrange secure insured delivery.

The remaining balance is due before your jewellery leaves us. In readiness, we can also help with specialist jewellery insurance. Once you have your piece, we will be here for cleaning, maintenance and aftercare. Diamond-set jewellery should ideally be checked every 18-months.
