Our Master Jeweller, James Veale, meets all clients who are interested in creating bespoke jewellery. This initial consultation is the opportunity to share your vision, which James can then transform into a reality that is aligned to your timeframe and budget.
Our Process
How We Work With You
The thought of starting from zero with designing a piece of jewellery can be daunting! Or you may know exactly what you want. The expert team at Veale Fine Jewellery work with you at every stage of the process, from the initial consultation, throughout the creative concept and design stages, until you have your perfect piece of jewellery in your hands.
1. Initial Consultation

James will share design options with you based on the initial consultation and any subsequent conversations. This will include photo-realistic images of designs created using CAD technology and a presentation of different stones that could be used so that you have a clear picture of how the final piece will look. You’ll be able to see the design from different angles and even see how it looks alongside existing jewellery – for example, seeing how a wedding band could sit alongside an engagement ring. This is where the final cost is determined so there are no surprises along the way!
3. Design and creation
James will refine the designs based on your feedback until the final blueprint perfectly matches your vision. A silver prototype of the piece can be made if needed. You’ll also have the chance to review the different gemstones in person. So much of a gemstone’s energy is shared when you hold it and it’s important that we select the stones that best resonates with you. We then move onto making the piece. Each piece will be hallmarked in London and we can personalise jewellery with engravings
4. Delivery
Once your bespoke jewellery is ready in about 4-6 weeks, we will carefully wrap it in our signature packaging and arrange the best way to get it to you. All clients are welcome to visit our Hertfordshire workshop, or we can arrange in-person meetings in London or courier delivery (with all jewellery appropriately insured).
5. Maintenance
We love to keep in touch with clients once they’ve received their beautiful piece of jewellery. We always advise on aftercare, providing complimentary cleaning and claw inspection services, as well as insurance certificates, repairs, repolishing and re-rhodium plating where appropriate to ensure that your jewellery is at its best!
